Dancing Birds

When we had the chicks hatch, we learned a little bit about the parts of birds. We also learned how male and female birds are different. We discussed how the females' job is to keep the eggs in the nest safe, and how that affects how birds are different colours. We learned that male birds need bright colours and interesting tricks to attract female birds, but that female birds need to be camouflage to stay hidden in the nest. This morning we watched a little clip of some interesting dances that some birds do to attract a partner.
