Les solides, les liquides et les gaz

Today we were working with more liquides and solides to find out what happens when we mix them together.

We mixed bicarbonate de soude and du vinaigre...
We mixed NeutraSeltzer and de l'eau...
And we mixed a Borax/water liquid with a glue/water liquide to make Slime!

Today we learned that sometimes solides et liquides combine to make gaz, and sometimes deux liquides can make a very fun and interesting substance. The slime we made today is neither a liquid nor a solid because it doesn't follow all of the rules for either. When we play with it, it is solid, it stays together, but when we leave it alone, it flows, like a liquid. We call this a non-Newtonian fluid.
More slime!

Parents: All students made this promise today before taking home their slime: "I promise to only play with my slime at the kitchen table, and never ever on my bed, or on the carpets at home."
